Posted on 5/3/2012 Today I had the distinct honor of recognizing Lance Corporal Mark Andrews on the floor of the Senate for his distinguished service to our country.
Born in Long Beach and raised in Los Alamitos, this local hero recently received the Purple Heart Medal for injuries he sustained in Helmand Province, Afghanistan while conducing counter insurgency operations as a United States Marine.
The following is my Capitol Comment on this outstanding young hero.
